Billy has experience facilitating groups focused on DBT, CBT, trauma informed therapy, yoga, horticultural, experiential rites of passage, adventure, and culinary therapy. Born and raised in Chicagoland, Billy received his B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in 2012. He then spent 6 months as an extended stay volunteer, rebuilding Tuscaloosa Alabama in the wake of an F5 tornado and delivering relief supplies to New Orleans after Hurricane Isaac.
After moving back to Chicago, Billy worked at an intensive outpatient therapy program for teens and young adults and then spent a year working at a residential treatment center in Champaign Illinois for victims of child abuse. Billy then spent 7 months volunteering in Europe and New Zealand serving homeless people and refugees. Before working at Dragonfly, Billy spent two years as a guide in Hawaii for a wilderness and horticultural therapy program for young adults.
Billy enjoys hiking, surfing, biking, camping, and developing genuine connections with people around the world. He has traveled to 20 countries,taught surf lessons in Raglan, New Zealand, and has saved at least 8 lives. Billy spends his free time playing basketball, staying in touch with friends and family, and reading scientific papers. He bikes for transportation and tries to live as sustainable a life as possible.
