The Dragonfly Ashland Campus Women’s Group decided to get hands-on this last Wednesday and build the community a much needed bike rack. It was a project idea that began months earlier with the formation of a design, supply list and budget proposal finally put into motion. Mentor Kelly Sosa came in to share her love for power tools and take the Women’s Group shopping at a local hardware store.
Armed with tools and tons of knowledge from a lengthy safety talk and supervision, the ladies got to work! It was a team effort that took an hour and a half and resulted in smiling women, a growing knowledge of valuable life skills, and a functional creation to store student and staff bikes. Way to go, ladies!
