Starr was born and raised in Sacramento CA. At a young age she began associating with the wrong people and started her young adult life as a perplexed and apprehensive individual. After spending much time in and out of treatment, finally, at the age of 21 she was diagnosed with a co-occurring disorder and was able to get to the root of her drug addiction and a handle on her mental health.
In the last 10 years, Starr returned to school to complete her high school diploma and continued her education in Addiction Studies. She has worked with a variety of settings with diverse populations including: federal and state parolees, detox, those suffering from co-occurring disorders, and chronic homelessness. Now, thanks to Dragonfly, Starr gets to center her experience and knowledge around helping young adults specifically.
Starr recently decided to move to Klamath Falls to reconnect and be closer to family. When she is not at work, you’ll find her spending quality time with her children and family doing various activities such as fishing, boating, hiking, and exploring Oregon and its many beautiful destinations!
