Cameron Mortensen, M.Ed.

Position: Academic and Vocational Coordinator

Cameron grew up in California before moving to New York City to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Music with a minor in Psychology. After graduating, she joined AmeriCorps as a music teacher in a rural elementary school in central Oregon. It was at this job that she fell in love with teaching, watching young students/young adults grow, and living in Oregon! She excitedly decided to go back to school to get her Master’s degree in Education and teaching credential from San Jose State University in California. She is now happy to be back living in Oregon and working at Dragonfly Transitions.

As Academic and Vocational Coordinator, Cameron is passionate about supporting students’ individual needs in their academic and work journey. She believes that learning is an ongoing process, learning opportunities are everywhere, and that every student has unique strengths and assets. She is proud to be a part of a team that promotes social-emotional learning and relationship-building in a forgiving, supportive environment.

In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, practicing yoga, playing music, and stand-up paddleboarding.
