Irene spent the first 7 years of her life in the Czech Republic and visited there frequently growing up (Czech was also her first language but has lost the accent). Irene spent majority of her childhood in Denver, CO. She is a graduate of both Klamath Community College & Oregon Institute of Technology, where she earned her bachelor’s degree (with an emphasis on Applied Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis). Irene has worked in the psychology field, since graduating in 2014, as a Behavior Specialist and as part of various leadership teams as a Program Director. Irene has vast experience working with a wide variety of populations ranging from children to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities as well as mental illness.
Irene is excited to be a part of the Dragonfly Transitions team, where she can apply her education and extremely varied personal connections and work experiences to help change the lives of young people. Irene is the Program Director for the newly revamped Short-Term Residential Treatment Center, now known as Embark at Dragonfly (previously The Homestead) and is very excited to bring a combination of evidence-based treatment and nature to young people in need of positive change.
Outside of work, you can find Irene outdoors as frequently as possible enjoying activities such as hiking, swimming, gardening, and adventuring/traveling as often as possible with her husband, Nate and their rescued fur-son, Bandit. Irene has a passion for the outdoors and all things dog related.
